Heat Pump Filters
Next week Margell Mechanical will be replacing Terrace Court heat pump filters. If possible, you may want to watch to make sure dust filters are the correct size. If they do not fit snugly, circulating air goes around and not through the filters. This allows dust and pollution to build up on the metal fins in your heat pump and reduces heating and cooling efficiency. If your heat pump is older than five or six years, you may want to remove the old filter before Margell Mechanical arrives, reach up behind the heat pump when it is turned off, and gently scrub the metal 'leaves' with a brush dipped in warm soapy water or , better yet, Windex. If the brush comes away clean, then your filter has been working. If your brush is black, keep scrubbing gently until it comes away clean.
